Aerobatic Training, Tailwheel Training, and Emergency Maneuvers
If you will be attending the Sun n Fun Fly In, at Lakeland Florida in April, you might be interested in the Educational Forums. If you can attend one or more Sun n Fun Forums, it will be time well spent. All of the speakers are experienced professionals offering valuable information to help us all become more responsible pilots.
I will be one of several speakers representing the IAC (International Aerobatic Club). I will offer two power point presentations this year, Emergency Maneuvers and Spin and Upset Recovery. They will be presented at 11am Tuesday 13 April and 11am Wednesday 14 April respectively.
Studies show almost all aviation loss of control accidents involve a turn; and so, my Emergency Maneuvers presentation begins with the basic turn, contiunues with a review of several advanced flying skills and concludes with flying emergencies and best practices for the resolution of those emergencies. Topics include:
1. The Proper Turn
2. Use of top rudder and zero g recovery
3. Stall recovery at unusual attitudes
4. Steep turns
5. The fabulous Chandelle and Wing Over
In my Spin and Upset Recovery presentation, I talk about great training and having a lot of fun! I discuss spin recovery after turning base to final and everyone’s favorite spin – low wing over the top during departure. The Bobby Trap Turn, the wing over and zero G recoveries will also be part of this presentation. Attending seminars and proper training will assuage a pilot’s anxiety about inadvertent stalls and spins
I hope to see you there, and please tell a friend about Sun n Fun Educational Forums.
